Should A 74 Yr Old Who Is Under Observation For Blood Sugar Levels Be Taken To Emergency If It Is 556?

HELLO I JUST CHECKED MY FATHER SUGAR BLOOD LEVEL, HIS READING IS 556, HE IS NOT TAKING ANY DIABETIC MEDICATION AT THIS TIME HIS DOCTOR ADVISED HIM TO CHECK LEVELS THREE TIMES A DAY FOR THE NEXT 10 DAYS, MY FATHER IS 74 YEARS OLD SHOULD I TAKE HIM TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM HE IS NOT FEELING ILL

Dear sir

Yes exactly you must take him to emergency room.. Usually raised sugars will be associated with increase in the concentration of the ketones which will cause ketoacidosis.
