Should A Back Cyst Lanced In The ER Have Been Packed With Gauze And The Sac Removed To Prevent Recurrence?

I had a cyst on my back and 2 days ago went to the ER at a nearby hospital got it lanced open and drained. Today I went to a follow up dr and he took off the gauze on my back and said it was supposed to be packed with gauze into the incision and the sac or something dug out
