Should A Buttock Cheek Mass Be Removed Immediately?

my 24 year old son has just returned form the doctor
he would not allow me to go with him
he was told he has a mass on his buttock cheek i am not certain
where it is located to be exact ...though the doc said he needs to see a surgeon to have the mass removed.....he has no insurance for another
60 days
does this need to be removed now or can he wait. I know your answer is
a shot in the dark ....but any thing you can say to help me think about this entire situation would help
