Should A Painful Head Knot Caused By Trauma Need Checking?

Hello....I am 42yo, white male, good shape, 6ft tall, 195....I was hit in the head with an errant baseball last Thursday. No real issues afterward except for a headache. However the knot on the side of my head still hurts quite a bit. No blurry vision, no dizziness. Any cause for concern?

Good day and thank you for being with health care magic!!!

For any head trauma, we suggest getting a plain CT scan of the head just to be sure there is no blood formation inside the skull which in turn may cause compression of the brain. There are cases where in patients are asymptomatic for two to three weeks only to find out that the blood inside has been accumulating until the brain reached its threshold and there was sudden loss of consciousness.

I would suggest getting a plain CT scan to be safe and sure.
