Should A Statin Be Taken To Reduce Heart Attack Risks?
I have type 2 diabetes, age 67, controlled by diet and exercise. I am about 15 lbs overweight. A1C have always been less than 7. Should I be taking a statin drug (like Lipitor) regardless of my cholesterol profile to lower the risk of my first heart attack? i have no history of symptomatic CAD. I have been on levothyroxine 0.1 and asa 81mg for 7 years. Thanks for your time.
