Should A Tetanus Shot Be Taken After Being Pricked By A Rusted Nail?

So I was building a tree house in the woods and I were using all the wood from the old tree house that was back there and they had rusty nails on them and I accidentally scraped my finger on one of them while I was trying to lift The wood with my friends. Does this mean I need a tetanus shot

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is better to get vaccinated. Rusted nail is notorious for developing tetanus. You won't require further shots for next five years.

Wishing you good health.

Thanks.
