Should Abrasion On Leg Be Uncovered After Applying Antiseptic Cream?

Our daughter has a 7mm wide abrasion around the top of her leg caused by being caught up in a strand of wire while riding her horse , so there was quite a bit of force involved. There is a bit brusing around the wound . We have covered the wound and used some antiseptic cream , but should we now leave it uncovered so it can get some air to it
