Should An Urologist Be Consulted For Bleeding In Urine?

My daughter keeps bleeding on and off in her urine.. sometimes its pure red and other times her urine is clear.. it's been happening over the last 6 weeks.. we went to the hospital and they have advised for her to see a urologist? Is that the correct person she needs to see.. any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank u
