I am a 62 year old male and have had a persistent cough for a while. I get nasal infections often but this is a cough that is not going away. It is not a deep chest cough but it is constant. What kind of doctor should I see and should I get some sort of X Ray? I have suffered from an overabundance of phlegm for years also.

Should An X-ray Be Taken For Persistent Cough?
Hi, It could be bronchitis, but you should definitely see doctor. Depending on geographic location, your general practitioner can arrange for an X-ray. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Anders Mark Christensen
