Should Antibiotics Be Taken For Staph Infection?

I was diagnosed Tuesday evening with sinusitis and a staph infection in my nose. I was prescribed Leviquin and an antibacterial cream for my nose. By Thursday I was much worse and went back to the same Patient First-different Doctor and told him all my new symptoms. He said I had MRSA-but he didn t do any blood tests? Today I have a little bit more energy but my knees hurt/ache and I know have small raised red bumps on my body? Should I seek more healthcare or continue taking the new antibiotic he prescribed? Thanks so much!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a bacterial infection. I see that you have already taken antibiotics to treat the infection.

I suggest continuing with the treatment as prescribed by your doctor. I also suggest maintaining good hygiene.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
