Should Blood In Vomit While Suffering From Flu, Stuffy Nose, Coughing And Fever Raise Concern?

my husband seems to have the flu (stuffy nose, coughing, vomiting, 100.4 fever, hot to the touch but he feels cold). The last time he threw up he said there was some blood. He had some cereal for breakfast around 9am, but really nothing else since. I am also about 10 weeks pregnant, so I am trying to keep my distance. My question: should I be concerned about the blood in his vomit?

Dear Friend.
Blood in sputum should be a concern because it might be due to low platelet counts.
Also a chest infection like tuberculosis can also cause this.
However simply a cold cough leading to excessive coughing can also cause this.
It's always better to be sure.
So get the following:
1. Hemogram with ESR
2. Chest Xray
3. Liver function test.
Good Luck.
