Should Blood Pressure Medications Be Taken Life Long?

Hi, I have experienced high blood pressure (160/110) last week and has been advised by my Doctor to take HP control tablets both morning and night. (Those are Atenolol tablet) I m just worried that Should I always continue in my lifetime to take the medication for treating High BP or it can be discontinue after few monitored months?

As per your history, yes you may require lifetime.

As after stopping medications, there is a chance of rebound hypertension I. E blood pressure may increase.

So kindly continue medications as adviced. Along with the that watch for symptoms like like headache, giddiness
