Should Cataract Surgery Be Done Immediately For An Eye With Corneal Scar?
Cataract on one eye is much worse than second eye. Is it wise to wait for second eye to get worse before having first eye fixed? I worry about discrepancy between eyes causing problems since I am very near sighted. Also, the eye with cataract also has a corneal scar in the center which causes focus difficulties. Vision is far worse for near than far although it is the better of my two eyes for distance. I also have the start of MD, with no symptoms, in that same eye. I know the procedure is very common, but I feel these conditions make my choice more complex. My doctor doesn't seem to be concerned about them, except to say that with the MD, my vision is compromised. I have no symptoms of MD now. Thank you very much for your attention to this.
it is correct. there will be anisometropia and binocularity will be lost. it is difficult to bring alignment between two eyes.the scaring in centre will create more problem since it will there will not be visual acuity. visual acuity should be tested before surgery.
