Should Doctor Be Consulted For Nose Bleed In An ADHD Child?
My 8 year old son fell off his bed and his nose bleed but it wasn t much but a few big drops. After bang I run to turn the lights on, helped him, checked for bruises while I conifer him up but cried for a few minutes. He became upset at me (mother), refusing and pushing me away? I stood nearby trying to de-escalate his crying/upset but he then said he needed to pee. Came back and wiped his nose some blood again, but went back to sleep. No visible head bruises but I m concerned his nose may have being injured? Wondering if I need to take him to ER for X-rays? Wake him up? He has ADHD gets angry and scared of DRs
Yes, it may be caused by certain psychosomatic issues and in this case this is not dangerous and there is no need to be concerned. However, some organic issues should be ruled out such as hypertension, nose polyps, sinusitiis- SO she should se ENT doctor for further evaluation. Also deviated deptum may be present in some cases and it should be properly treated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
