Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son,37 y o, is moving to Siliguri late Jan with his wife and 2 young sons. He has several medical conditions which have been followed here in the U.S.: large melanoma on back, naso-lacrimal cancer requiring orbital decompression and rt partial maxillectomy. He also has duodenal ulcer-- waiting on biopsies to ck for helicobactor . Q: where to start on finding Dr. To follow him either in Siliguri or nearby? Should he start with a good internist? recommendations?
In India you will have to look for a specialist who can take care of gastrointestinal problem, skin problem and naso-lacrimal problem. Thus, you will need to look for a gastroenterologist, dermatologist and an ENT specialist.
The naso-lacrimal cancer has been surgically treated. You have not mentioned whether the melanoma has been treated or not. Melanoma will require surgical excision of the lesion. If the duodenal biopsy is positive for Helicobacter infection, anti-microbial treatment against H pylori will be required.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
