Should Hormone Levels Be Checked Now After Delivery?

Hi, I had a high level of prolactin before pregnancy and had taken bromocryptin tablets for 1 month after which i became pregnant. I delivered on Aug 27 and my baby died. Since i am not breast feeding my periods started last Saturday. Should i check whether my hormone levels are ok now?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. In the current scenario, you should get your hormone status updated. Since you lost the baby, the cause also should be known and any uncorrected factors should be rectified before you attempt another pregnancy. If an autopsy was conducted on the baby, it would be beneficial in planning future pregnancies. Uncorrected hormone imbalances usually lead to early trimester abortions/ abnormal pregnancies. Please contact a specialist for further care. Hope this helps.
