Should I Be Concerned About The Neurofibroma? Suggest Treatments

Hi Doctor,

My name is Sandeep. I have 3 bulged outgrowths on my arms and thigh. When I consulted the local doctor, they said its called neurofibroma. How risky is it? I dont feel any pain because of it. But certainly it has disfigured my arm. What treatment do you suggest.

Regards,
Sandeep

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Neurofibromas are commonly treated with surgical removal. If it is under skin then it will not cause any further problem. If they are painful or disfiguring then surgey is needed. So you can get it removed using surgery.

A histopathological examination will help in correct diagnosis of the underlying cause. So get it done.

Hope this helps you.

Regards
