Should I Be Concerned As I Am Having Fluttering In My Left Ear Due To An Ear Infection?

I keep having this fluttering in my left ear. It has gone through many infections in the past and now its the second time its ruptured. I presently have a ruptured eardrum with an ear infection and am on 2 anibiotics and 1 antifungal. The antifungal because they didn't know which type the infection was. Im seeing my ENT in 2 days what should I do? :( Oh and this is my third day on antibiotics

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I read your query regarding fluttering in ear of left side and you suspect it as due to ear infection.

No doubt fluttering in ear appears due to infection of middle ear and in most of the time this happens due to dysfunction of eustachian tube. In most of the patients the throat is the primary site of infection but here one should consider the involvement of nose and paranasal sinuses as well.

At present you really need the specialist care but till you are waiting for ENT specialist you may take-

1- Steam inhalation.

2- Tab Paracetamol.

3- Anti histaminic.

4- Antibiotic (preferably broad spectrum).

I hope this will help you till your diagnosis is made for definitive treatment.

Regards.
