Painful and difficult urination is one of the commonest side effect of Gabapentin. It is not a safe drug in patients with kidney disease. I would advice my patient to stop Gabapentin and consult the doctor and undergo test and evaluation for kidney disease.
HI Thank for asking to HCM Your diabetes and the drug you are taking are not related with each other , if you are experiencing pain at the time of urine passing then it could be urinary tract infection with the history of diabetes it is likely, drink plenty off water, have nice day.
