Should I Be Concerned As My Left Ribcage Is Tender And My Stomach Area Is Bloated After A Fall?

I slipped and fell in the tub around two weeka ago. I hit my left ribcage area. I didn t see a doctor because I heard it wouldn t do me any good and that I should let my ribs heal on their own. But after two weeks the area just below my left ribcage is tender and my stomach area is bloated. When I breath deeply, the left breast area hurts as well. Should I be concerned?

Hi,

You might have suffered some contusion there. Try taking paracetamol / ibuprofen (after food) 3 times a day for 3 days. If it does not get better by then, kindly see your doctor to see whats going on, as in that case we may need to take an x ray as well.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK, Pediatrician
