Should I Be Concerned As My Wife Is Having High Blood Pressure During Her Pregnancy Period?

Hi Doc,
My wife is 32 weeks pregnant and consulting gynac noticed high Blood Pressure from 17th Jan which is between 160-100 to 140-90 and advised Alphadopa & Nicardia Retard to control it. But it's still 130-90. Until 8th Jan bloodpressure was 120-80 without any medication. Doctor says it's Pregnancy induced hypertension, and further investigation is not necessary and she will on same medication till she delivers.
My wife's age is 29 yrs height 5.0 ft and weight is 71Kg now. Please advise.

Dear member,

Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.
The condition you have described is pregnancy induced hypertension and can occur any time during pregnancy.
The drug methyldopa and nicardia are safe in this condition but your wife will require further investigation weekly to check if she and the baby are doing fine.

Only checking blood pressure is not enough.
Repeat biophysical profile of baby, ultrasound and Doppler have to be done.
Kindly write back with reports of blood investigation and scanw
Thanks
