Should I Be Worried About The Spotting And Abdominal Pain?

3 days ago I was working out in my garden and I lifted a heavy rock (I knew I probably shouldn t have because of back issues and what not) but afterwards I had a gush of small amount of blood from my vagina and since then I have been spotting. At the time of the initial bleeding/spotting I had a sharp pain in my abdoman that lasted for a short time and it is just a dull achy pain now but I also have pelvic congestive syndrome. Is there any need to worry about this abnormal spotting? It s hard to get into my doctors office any time soon because they are always booked. I m a nurse myself so I don t like to run to the doctor for silly things. I have had a history of a molar pregnancy that was cancerous 5 years ago and haven t had any issues with cancer since.

Hello,

I can understand your concern. Usually having some vaginal bleeding after lifting heavy objects is considered normal as woman cervix has a very rich blood supply due to a lot of blood vessels in the area which can rupture due to heavy weight lifting that can cause bleeding. The bleeding should be that much that you should require use of pad or tampon, In addition, it should stop on its own.

As you are experiencing this bleeding for 3 days and also have has a history of cancer, I would advise you to visit your gynecologist to rule out any abnormality or presence of growth in the area. If you need relief from pain, you can take a painkiller available over-the-counter that suits you usually.

I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Let me know if you have follow up questions.

Best,
