Should I Be Worried Of Having Constipation, Nausea And Abdominal Pain After The Intake Of Plan B?
Hi, I had unprotected half penetration about 8 days ago. He did not ejaculate at all that night. Just to be safe I took plan b within the 72 hours. Had some bad symptoms like constipation, bloating, a bit of Naseau, abdominal pain. I feel as if I am getting my period now but I have this discharge which a bit yellow. On top of it all he has a low sperm count. Could I have something to worry about?
Hello Thanks for writing to us with your health concern. Constipation, bloating, nausea and abdominal pain are common side effects of the Plan B. These are due to the hormonal withdrawal. SOme kind of spotting in response to hormone withdrawal is also the normal. So if have some kind of spotting / bleeding, that is to be expected. With partial penetration, there is always a risk of pregnancy. Even if ejaculation did not occur, and the partner has a low sperm count, some live and motile sperms might be present in the pre cum. Your normal period might be preponed or postponed by a week, so that is to be expected. Please take a pregnancy test 4 weeks after unprotected intercourse to ensure that you are not pregnant. Take care.
