Should I Be Worried Of Having Difficulties In Breathing, Chest Pain And Lightheadedness?

I am a 16 years old girl who suddenly started to have difficulities with breathing in the past few days. On the third day, I started getting sharp chest pains and then the day after that I was getting severely light headed as well. Is this something serious or should I not be bothered by it?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Dear young lady,

Thanks for the query. Although rare, cardiovascular disease does happen in young individuals, particularly problems with valves or funny rhythms of the heart, so if you have not been seen by a provider, a visit to a Pediatric Cardiologist would be high yield to rule out any organic causes of those symptoms. An ultrasound of the heart may be inidcated depending on the physical findings.

Hope this helps wish you the best,
