Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Should I Be Worried Of My Cholesterol Level And What Diet Is Recommended?
Just got my cholesterol tested for the first time. LDL was 63, HDL 155 and Triglycerides 68 for a total of 232. I m a female 42 height 5 8 and 140lb. I work out about 3x a week and eat healthy foods. My doctor said I had mildly elevated cholesterol and to eat lower saturated fat. I don t understand, i thought a high HDL was good? And my LDL already low. I do eat a lot of plant based fat like Fish oil, coconut oil, nuts, avocados.
If you are reading the results accurately, that is the HDL is higher than LDL, this is a protective factor for cardiac disease. Continue regular exercise and a healthy diet which is reflected in your triglycerides.
