Should I Consult A Doctor As I Am Having Sore Throat And Light Headedness?

I have had a soar throat for 4 days now, no other real symptoms except occasional mild light headedness. The soar throat feels more like the back of my tongue is soar, and when I swallow food or beverage it hurts my tongue. Just curious if I should head into the doctor! Thanks!

Hello there,
welcome to HCM,

Your symptoms are suggestive of acute sinusitis and bacterial pharyngitis.
Sinusitis is the inflammation of the sinuses where the sinuses are filled with mucus this causes pressure over the nasal bone and cheeks . This leads to headache or light headedness.
Pharyngitis leads to inflammation in the throat, soreness ,difficulty in swallowing and pain.
consult a physician and get the check up done.
meantime i would suggest you to go for symptomatic treatment at home like gargling with lukewarm saline water or antiseptic mouthwash like chlorhexidine or betadine which gives soothing effect to the throat.

i hope this helps,
take care.
