Should I Consult A Doctor As My House Cat Bit Me?

my house cat bit me on the hand and left a puncture 24 hours ago. It is swollen around the puncture, but other than feeling tight with some pain, it does not seem to be spreading. Is there symptoms I should be watching for and do I need to go see the doctor?

Hi,

Welcome to HCM.

Cat bites can also cause rabies. I suggest you get in touch with your GP and get post exposure vaccination for rabies. If your house cat is vaccinated on schedule, then you only need to get a vaccine for tetanus.

Thanks
