Should I Get A Tetanus Shot?

Today i pierced through my finger about halfway with a metal clay tool in ceramics class resembling a thick sewing needle. Should i get a tetanus shot? The tool had clay on it, and my finger did not bleed. I last had a tetanus shot no more that 3 years ago. The tip of my finger is still sore about 7 hours later.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi dear.Tetanus booster dose is recommended once in every 3 years.I would advice you to take if you haven't taken in the last 3 years. In case you donot remember I were to give one shot since it does not cause any harm.Soreness is due to the prick and not related to TT.Hope this answers your query.
