Should I Meet A Doctor For Blocked Ears, Ear Ache And Cold?
For the past week my ear has been blocked & I couldn't hear out of it, this was after I had a bad cold. Last night I had bad ear ache & this morning it feels blocked, has a slight ringing & when other people are talking to me it sounds very tinny and is like it's echoing. Do I need to go to doctors or will it clear itself?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Praveen's Response
Hi.Thanks for writing on HCM. Decreased hearing, ringing and ear ache are suggestive of respiratory infection and blockade of the Eustachian tube and possibly collection of fluid in the ear.I were to treat by a course of antibiotics and analgesics after a proper ENT examination.I suggest you to start on Tablet Cefixime 200mg after food twice daily and Brufen 400mg twice daily for now & meet ENT specialist without any further delay.
