Should I Meet Doctor For Faster Heart Beat Of A 17 Year Old?

my daughter is 17 and has a high heart rate. It prohibited her from donating blood. We noticed her heart rate was high one day after an energy drink - I told her absolutely no more of those. I thought it would return to normal but apparently not. Should I get her to her pediatrician?

Dear friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Yes, without doubt
She needs examination / investigations…
Anaemia / Anxiety / Alcohol / Tobacco (smoking) / Caffeine (too much tea, coffee, cola) / Fever / Infection / Pain / Stress / Thyroid / Medicines like Phenylephrine used for ‘cold’; Salbutamol used for asthma and so on - may be responsible....At times, abnormal nerve paths in the heart (bypass tracts) or disease of the conduction system may be responsible!

The treating doctor alone can suggest further based on his assessment of the situation.

Take care
Good luck
