Should I Meet Doctor For Flu Symptoms During Pregnancy?

Hi, I'm 33 years old, 5 feet 2 inches and 26 weeks pregnant. I have had flu symptoms for 2 days and am getting as much bed rest as I can, with lots of vitamin c and fluids. My resting heartbeat is 120 bpm though. Should I go and see my doctor? I'm booked for a check up with my ob gyn on Wednesday, and due to have my glucose tests on Monday. Thanks

Hello,
Welcome to HCM and thanks for asking your question. I would like to tell you that you are doing absolutely right by taking bed rest and vitamin c and fluids, as flu like symptoms are mainly due to viral infection.
So it will pass away within 3 to 4 days, if you will take enough precautions and you need not to consult your doctor for that, but if the symptoms persist for more than 5 days with high grade fever, then you need to consult a doctor for sure.
I also recommend you to do blood CBC done along with your glucose tests. Your heartbeat will also slow down soon, so you just need to be relaxed and take proper bed rest while having healthy diet.
Hope this will help you and best of luck and best wishes for your pregnancy.
