Should I Meet Doctor For Painful Stomach Cramps During Pregnancy?

Hi, I am 24 years old, and 135 pound and am 16 weeks pregnant. All day I have been experiencing frequent painful stomach cramps. They are not like a period cramp and there is no spotting but they are sharp. Usually afterwards I have a bowel movement..should i go into the er or is this normal?
