Should I Meet Doctor For Small, Black Spots Inside Upper Lip?

I noticed a few days ago a small blackish spot/mark on the inside of my upper lip/upper gum. I need to hold my lip back with a toothbrush to see it. I can also feel it w my tounge so its slightly raised. Should this go away or should I go show it to the doctor? Thx!

Hi,

According to the history, the small black lesion inside of upper lip..may be most probably mole or compound nevus. You do not worry. It is a benign condition. It is harmless, so may be kept untreated. The lesion is slightly elevated, that is why probability of compound nevus is more. Chances of conversion into malignanant melanoma is least. You consult dermatologist or oral surgeon. If you are really stressed, you may go for excision, otherwise keep untreated.

Thanks.
