Should I See A Physician For Lower Back Pain During My Period?
I have had moderate constant bloating for about a week. There is an occasional dull ache in both lower quadrants of my abdomen, but it is becoming more constant and tends to feel more like a cramp when I walk as the pain slightly intensifies with each step. It is also slightly worsened when I bear down to urinate. No burning with urination or foul odor. Ii am passing gas frequently and my BMs are regular to soft and medium to large daily. I am trying to conceive and I'm about 7-9 days away from my period (slightly irregular cycle usually about 31 days). I had lower back pain similar to the type I get during my period in the first few days however it has subsided for the most part. I also have mild nausea frequently and am fatigued. Should I see a physician?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Lower back pain during periods , which is mild and self controlling can be neglected/ home managed for being normal. Unbearable pain during menses causing nausea can be labelled as seveir dis menrrheoa- & needs treatment with a gynecologist's consultation. But the symptoms you have are continued through out, they seem to be due to digestive problem- & need to be examined/ investigated/treated by a physician. Thanks.
