Should I Take The Abortion Medication If HCG Levels Are Rising?

I am 4 weeks pregnant and have been bleeding for a few days. My HCG is low but has been slowing rising. Sunday it was 10, Monday 12 and the Wednesday 14.4. My OB today told me that it isn't a viable pregnancy and I was losing it. She said that if my levels don't start going down on their own by Monday she will give me medication to end it. Do I want to take the medication if my levels are rising? Or should I wait a few more weeks?

I have gone through the query and here are a few facts related to your concern. A good prognosis in a pregnancy is forecast if the serum beta-hCG titres show doubling every 2-3 days. Since your titres are not showing this, your pregnancy is in jeopardy, I am sorry to say. In addition, the bleeding makes it a threatened abortion. If no fetal cardiac activity is visible in a trans-vaginal sonogram even at 7 weeks, the pregnancy in non-viable and in such an instance, needs to be evacuated. You can wait for another couple of weeks to plan further management. Hope your query has been answered.
