Should I Use 'supatret-c' Cream If My Acne Is Decreasing?
Hello doctor! I am 28 years old. 3 months back i started using a beauty cream to reduce fine lines and age spots. I used it for a week and then stopped using it as i had to go outstation for a function. After this the problem of acne and pimples started to appear on my face. Whenever i used to apply sunscreen or any other cream, i used to feel some sort of itching sensation on my cheeks. recently had been to skin doctor and he advised me to use supatret c gel for a month. but now i have noticed that my acne is decreasing in number and only spots are left. My child was sick so i couldnt use the cream. So my problem is whether i should use the cream now or should use it only if the acne problem reappears?
The cream that you have been using contains tretinoin in combination with clindamycin. Tretinoin is a topical retinoid. It is an excellent comedolytic and therefore effective in acne whereas clindamycin is an antibacterial and is frequently combined with topical tretinoin. Tretinoin being comedolytic in nature would also prevent new acne formation. Therefore it is usually part of maintenance treatment of acne. Tretinoin also helps lighten the spots left over by acne. Now that your acne is almost settled and you have just a few spots remaining therefore I suggest that you continue with the same topical preparation for a few more days.
