Should In Be Worried About The Swollen Lymph Node And Tenderness Supraclavicular Area?

The night before last, I was watching TV, when I felt a little tenderness in my right supraclavicular area. Then I noticed a lymph node that seemed slightly swollen. I ve been panic stricken ever since, feeling around for it every five minutes. It moves out of the way when I manipulate it, and it s about the size of an elongated pinto bean. Unfortunately, I ve been googling it, and am freaking out. What do you think? I m a fifty-five, 5-4 and weigh about 115 pounds.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Lymph node enlargement can occur due to infection, inflammation, reactive or neoplasm.
Is there history of infection in recent past?
In case there is recent history of infection in the past, the lymph node enlargement could be reactive.
However, you need to get an aspiration cytology of the lesion as first line investigation.
In aspiration cytology, the cells from the lesion are aspirated, spread on a slide, stained with appropriate stain and viewed under a microscope.
This investigations helps to determine the nature of the lesion and cause for lymph node enlargement.

Thanks and take care
