Should Liquid Diet Be Followed In Case Of Diverticulitis?

Hi, I am a 59 year old female. I have a history of ovarian cancer, which did recur in 2012. The mass was confined and was surgically removed, I had a year of chemo and have been stable with low CA 125 for the past year. I recently had a series of episodes of severe abdominal pain, and saw my PCP who suspected diverticulitis, had blood work drawn and started me on Metronidazole and Levofloxacin and told me to be on a clear liquid diet. I have only taken one day of the antibiotics. My blood work came in today and the WBC was normal. I am wondering if I could stop the antibiotics? I will see my oncologist tomorrow and I am sure he will order diagnostic tests. The antibiotics are making me feel unwell and I would prefer not to take them unnecessarily. Also, should I stay on clear liquids till I see my oncologist? Thank you.
