Should Medicines For PCOD Be Taken Life-long?

hi doctor,

i'm 29 years old, married for last 6 years. my husband stays in abroad since from marriage, he comes once in three or four months, and i have not conceived yet. i have throid from the age of 13, and found that i have pcod just before 5 years. i have very irregular periods from puberty(13 years) i get periods once in 4 or 5 months, last period was in sep2010, since from sept2010 i dint get my periods. if i don't get for more than four months i take deviry for 7 days and i take medicine only for thyroid(thyronorm 50mcg) and has not started treatment for pcod. my weight is 62 kg. my query is if i have to go for treatment for pcod, should i take medicine for life long and will that affect in conceiving as my spouse gonna return and stay permanently with me from this year.expecting your reply...
