Should Moderate Amount Of Bleeding Between Periods Be Concerned?

Hi, I am 48 years old and have noticed a moderate amount of bleeding between periods x 2 months. I also experience period like cramping for 2-3 days. I am not sexually active, so I am not pregnant. No other symptoms noted. It has been 3 years since my last pap and I have scheduled an appointment. Should I be very concerned?

Hello madam, from the history you have given, well sometimes pre menopause also presents with such a pattern.i would also suggest to repeat your pap smear so as to rule out any pre malignant changes of the cervix.Mild bleeding is fine but if the bleeding is heavy or lasting for many days then You may need an examination by your gynaecologist. Hope i was helpful to you.
