Should My Husband Get An X-ray Or CT Scan For A Painful, Itchy Skull Dent After Hitting His Head, Despite Mild Symptoms?

My husband was working under the house and hit his head. We’ve just notice a linear dent on top left side of his skull. He said it felt like a scab was there and it itches. No nausea dizziness but some headaches. When we touch it he says it hurts a small bit. Maybe 1 lvl pn. I’ve worked in the medical field so naturally I’m going to do my own research however I’m no doctor. He’s a veteran so I’m wondering if we should go to the VA er soon and have an X-ray or CT scan. Any suggestions?
