Should Piercing Be Removed If It Causes Swollen Throat?

I got my tongue pierced 6 days ago and now my throat is swollen. The first few days excedrin was eloping great but now nothing takes away ANY pain.
The top hole seems to have maybe gotten bigger and almost looks as if the metal is being rejected. My piercing is slanted due to the fact that I have a short tongue and a long web. I don't know if I should remove the piercing or not.

Hello

yes, you must remove the piercing as it looks like it is infected!!
Please start gargling with warm salt water or hexidine mouth wash 3-4 times a day and meet your doctor if the swelling does not settle in 2-3 days.
Thanks
