Should Pregnancy Test Be Taken After Missing A Period?

hi i'm 5 days late and today have noticed that i have some spotting and now it seems to have stopped, do you think i should or need to take a pregnancy test? I already have one little girl and i had alot of symptoms with her and this time im having no symptoms, im never normally late
