Should Scabies Be Treated Immediately?

My grandaughter has scabies and her Mom is out of town on a school trip. The doctor that diagnosed it today said wait and treat the house and everyone at the same time. This is freaking me out. Shouldn t I go an strip the beds and start the treatment now not only for her but her surroundings?

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
If you want to treat the household immediately, you could go ahead. But it is better you repeat it after a week after her mother comes back so that she does not harbour the mite. There is no harm.in repeating the application of the medicine after 1 week.
Hope this puts you at ease.
Take care.
