Should Spinal Anesthesia Or Epidural Be Used As Anesthetic Management?

hi doctor, im 55 y/o F and will undergo TAHBSO. I have a slipped disc at L4_5 diagnosed 5 yrs ago. I just feel some numbness in my left extremity.I am very much mobile.Is it advisable to have a spinal anesthesia or epidural as my anesthetic management? If not, why? What would be the best you can recommend? thank you.
