Should The ER Be Visited For Sore Throat Along With Swollen Lymph Nodes In The Neck?
Last Monday And Tuesday I was battling a sore throat. Wednesday I stayed home from work & again on Friday. Today I still have a scratchy throat, the left side of my head, face ear & lymph nodes on my neck are tender & the lymph nodes are slightly swollen. My eye is sore & last night it felt like it was cramping. I thought I had pink eye do to redness & discharge in the night, but haven t had any more discharge today. Do I let this run it s course or do I need to see a doctor? I have diabetes, I don t think it is related to that
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Probably you may be suffering from acute viral pharygitis with lymphadenopathy. Other possibilities like diabetes with mucormycosis of ear or deptheria or infectious mononucleosis infection , mums etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. Use anti pyretics and pain killer medication. If symptoms not improved please consult your ENT he will examine and treat you accordingly .
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
