Skated At A Fast Speed Into The Boards. Headaches, Head Feels Hot. How Long Will Symptoms Persist?

My daughter age 9 skated at a fast speed right into the boards with ger head. She is now experiencing a mild to moderate headache in her front head and forehead , she also said her head feels hot. This happened 4 days ago and she did have a helmet on. How long will symptoms persist and is this serious that i should take her to the doctors?

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

The symptoms suggest that your daughter had a mild head injury. In that case, the symptoms should go away in a weeks time.

However, if the headache persists, or if she develops vomiting, increased severity of headaches, blurred or double vision, weakness of arm or legs or seizures, then, you should take her to a doctor, and if possible, get a CT scan of the head done.

As of now, there is no need to worry.

I hope it helps.

Best wishes,
