hello doctors ,my father dont sleep properly, few years before he affected by stoke. 6 month before admitted hospital for na+ reduced bellow 130mg. he is in depressed state because some money problem.so please suggest good foods get deep sleeping. with regards
Stroke, low sodium and depression, all of them can adversely affect sleep quality and duration.
If your father has depression, he would require anti-depressants. Some antidepressants also improve the sleep, such as tricyclic antidepressants. Your doctor can help in choosing a good anti-depressant.
In addition, he needs to involve himself in regular physical activity for about 30-60 minutes daily. This also improves the sleep quality.
There are no specific food stuffs to improve sleep.
