Sliced Thumb Skin. Throbbing Pain And Bleeding After First Aid. Removing Gauze Leads To Bleeding. Suggestions?

I sliced 1-2mm of my thumb skin on a mandoline slicer, some piece came off. My first idea was to apply pressure to stop bleeding. I ran cold water over wound and with gauze pressed on it. It stung like hell. Then tried to use gauze and traumel on it and neosporine. I raised my arm above head to keep bleeding under control. Whats now? Its throbbing and if I try to take gauze off its bleeding again, and stings.

Hello

Welcome to healthcare magic forum
Thank you for your question.'
I am Dr Gaurav Patel ,dermatologist.
I understand your concern regarding your skin problem.
You have taken good primary care.
You need to apply good amount of cream and then apply gauze.
Do not try to remove it for next 10 hrs.
Pressure for long time required to stop the bleeding.
Pain is natural and you need to take analgesic for it.
You should take tetanus injection also.
if you feel pain is more or bleeding do not stop ,better to consult doctor.
I do not think it is serious thing to worry much, just relax.
I hope i answered your question.
Wish you speedy recovery.
Regards.
