Slight Inflation At The Back Of Tongue. Swelling, Irritation While Swallowing Food. Gargling With Salt And Listerine. Remedy?
Hi, I have a slight inflation at the back of my tongue ( Probably its circumvallate Papillae), I was eating some spicy food and started feeling like something is struck at back of my tongue. Later found out some swelling , and caused irritation while swallowing food, although there is no pain. It turned into yellow color the next day. I have been gargling with salt and doing listerine mouthwash since then, Next day I started gargling with asprin on the advice of pharmacist. I have recently quit smoking and this happened 3 days after that, kindly advise me quick remedy as i have a very important interview in 3 days and I do not want this swelling to worsen up and start causing pain.
It seems like you had an ulcer/erosion formed on the posterior part of your tongue, may be because of spicy food. That yellowish area is because of slough covering it which is usual for any ulcer/erosion on base of tongue. it should be fine in another 3-4 days with regular gargling. Please keep up with your resolve for stopping smoking. Regards
